Denise Garrido lives by the 4 principles that earned her a 2nd degree black belt in TaeKwon-Do. Modesty, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit are at the foundation of her success.
Miss Garrido was the first Canadian to win two National Grand Slam Pageants, Miss Earth Canada 2008 & Miss World Canada 2010, and technically, the first to win all three National Grand Slam Pageants when she was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2013 for 24 sweet hours. Her 24 hour reign received international attention, but it was her grace, not the title, that garnered her worldwide respect and acclaim.
At Laurentian University, Denise graduated, Cum Laude, in Biomedical Sciences. Her thesis, completed at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Center, was focused on Breast Cancer, applying her theoretical knowledge to the laboratory.Read More
